oUR STORY

Balochistan Youth Action Committee (BYAC) is a youth-driven organization that works across the Balochistan region of Pakistan. We are a non-political and non-partisan group of young professionals and students from different parts of Pakistan who have come together to volunteer and help people in Balochistan. As the most underdeveloped and impoverished province in Pakistan, Balochistan faces numerous challenges, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of its people.

Our work initially began as a campaign in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We sought to assist the most vulnerable communities in the province by providing food supplies and protective gear to the frontline heroes. However, our efforts have since evolved into one of the largest youth-led initiatives in the region.  At BYAC, we believe that community development is key to achieving sustainable change. We understand that empowering local communities is essential to this goal. BYAC's approach ensures that the work is locally-led and culturally sensitive, and that the solutions formulated are enduring in both the immediate and distant future. 

Our champions are empowered to identify the needs of their communities and develop tailored solutions that are culturally sensitive, locally-led, and effective. We firmly believe that investing in the next generation of community leaders is essential to building a brighter future for Balochistan. Our work aims to inspire and equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to become agents of change in their own communities. BYAC aims at equipping young people with the skills, knowledge, and resources to effect a just and equitable transition in Balochistan. Over the last three years, BYAC along with our sister organization Global Shapers Karachi have successfully trained more than 260 youth leaders, assisted over 400,000 individuals in over 70 villages in Balochistan.
